We thought it would be appropriate for the maker of these Eulogy Legends Wheels to give a full run down why he decided to make this line of limited edition skate wheels. We got a chance to meet up with Isaac from Eulogy and here’s what he had to say about these new Eulogy wheels…
“Last Winter I was thinking to myself what some people have done to promote the sport we all have passion for. What DID Chris Edwards do for the sport? I remember the first time I saw him skate, it was 1991 in Plano Texas at a Rollerblade race. He was on the half pipe thanking the sponsors of the event. I remember him saying ” I’d like to thank Coors Light even though I’m not old enough to drink it”, or something to that affect. He brought mass exposure to the market niche we all participate in.
Arlo, Arlo was the first “legitimate” skater (in my opinion) to bring a face to the mainstream through the X Games and those lovely Roces life size in store displays. Arlo was and always will be the most recognized persona in our sport.
With that mainstream exposure came the birth of the skate video, I know Dare to Air was the first but let’s all face it, the Hoax series is what really drew us in. It drew us in with the personalities like Mike Opalek and B Love Hardin. That front side through the S rail in boulder still sticks in my mind all these years and concussions later. And I STILL know not to have citric acid after a night of drinking, thanks Mike, that’s come in handy. Your personalities are what drew a new flock of skaters.
All four of these guys are what I consider the best ambassadors and role models our sport had to offer then during our growth spurt and today continuing their role in, and support of rollerblading. These wheels are a tribute to all that you have done for our community over the past 20 some odd years! Much Love! PS Mike do you still have your 1992 camp rollerblade staff tee shirt?
