Great skate, minor quality issues with stitching., February 9, 2018 By Ivan (Evanston, IL)
These Remz feel fantastic on your feet just like previous models, and have all of the nice features and details you'd expect from such a well designed and researched Remz skate to present. The only gripe I have with them is with quality control, namely the poor stitching, but that has minimal effect on the skate, at least from what I can tell after skating them on the first time out (which with these liners requires minimal break in, only had sat with them around the house a little first, and they worked well 1st time). I maybe got a bad pair, but either way mine came with a big area where the manufacturer missed the channel along the boot with the needle while sewing the boot to the liners outer skin, and it left some needle holes in and outside of the gray plastic on the boots toe, and some parts that the thread isn't connected to the plastic and was poorly patched with glue. Other areas are also stitched inaccurately, or not at all, like the tounge (where stitches were missing between two layers of material allowing me to put my finger inside the middle) and in those spots the glue is missing where it is needed. There were lots of dried glue marks where it seeped out from underneath the plastic shell, and lots small streaks of permanant silver marker along the boot where they left marks to try and line it up correctly to the outerwrap/liner and messed up by an smidge and left them all showing, but they don't affect the skates performance either. It is a great looking skate still either way, and it seems sturdy like its design will make up for the poor craftsmanship. Time will tell but I am guessing they will hold up well and be well worth the money.
